Benefits of Using Online Training
Online
training is a dynamic, cost-effective tool offering interactive learning that
creates a positive experience and motivates students to learn. As one
correctional officer and online student commented, "Each chapter kept me wanting
to read more."
Online training has many
benefits to offer, including:
Consistency - Even when
trainers use the same lesson plans, delivery of the training varies from class
to class simply because no two people and, therefore, no two training sessions
are exactly alike. Online training provides the same, consistent training to
staff - there are no obvious or subtle differences.
Centralization - All
documentation can be maintained in one location, staff progress can be monitored
on a daily basis, and reports are readily available to document completion of
training.
Cost-effectiveness –
Using a blended learning approach saves valuable training dollars. Combining
classroom training with online training offers a blended learning solution that
meets the unique needs of the correctional field. Online training provides
cognitive skills, while classroom training provides hands-on skills.
Time-effectiveness -
Staff can take courses at various locations. There is no limit on the number of
participants and no time restraints on scheduling training. Online training also
solves the problem of trying to get staff and trainers in one place at one time.
ACA users have the added
benefit of satisfying legislative, training, ACA accreditation, ACA
re-certification, and professional licensing requirements!
