Director of Corrections Health Services

Location  Jackson Health System in Miami, FL 
Description 

Miami-Dade Corrections Health Services (CHS) operates under Jackson Health System (JHS) and serves approximately 5,000 patients daily. Patient care is delivered by nearly 400 healthcare employees representing a diverse multidisciplinary team of nurses & nurse support staff, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers and other professionals. CHS supports Miami Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation at 3 facilities in Miami-Dade County and leverages the resources of a large public safety net health system in the areas of education, quality, risk management & compliance.

 

The Director of Corrections Health Services will lead the CHS team to drive positive outcomes in a patient-centric correctional healthcare environment. The director serves as the senior officer who is accountable for all aspects of CHS operations, including competent and ethical leadership, strong operational execution and the achievement of organizational goals, action plans, and policies. This role will work collaboratively on a daily basis with the Director of Corrections and Rehabilitation for Miami-Dade County and reports to the Director Operations for Jackson Health System. The performance assessment of the incumbent will be completed in collaboration with the Director of Corrections and Rehabilitation for Miami-Dade County.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in business related field or medical doctor or registered nurse with advanced business degree preferred. Candidate must have extensive and progressive experience, preferably for a minimum of ten years, providing leadership and management direction within a correctional health environment. Must have a strong track record related to strategic planning, operations improvement, financial management, organizational dynamics, multi-faceted health system development and management, and program.
